Many hands make light work

We have so many tomatoes, green chillies lettuce, dwarf beans, cucumbers and herbs, plus evidence of lush looking pumpkins, squash and corn. We’ve even started eating some of the pink fir apple potatoes!

We are now filling the table Tuesday to Friday and despite all the building works, having the table up by the Scrapstore is working a treat. On Tuesday morning it took two of us over 1.5 hours to harvest and take the produce up to the table. This is why we appreciate our volunteers’ contribution on Fridays so much! Many hands really do make lighter work and this frees us up to move on to weeding, hoeing, sowing and transplanting.

Added into the mix is also the effort to take down the other shed. We have the groundworker lined up for the second week in September, so it feels like it's finally happening!
