Potato marbles

We have learned that there is a plan to plough over the field that the potatoes are in and where it's had three years of a clover lay, they’ll be putting in a herbal lay.

The urgent question is whether to ask them to include the area used for the potatoes and concede that the land is so knackered that it's unfair asking it to grow anything. It struggles enough to grow weeds!

We went up to the field this morning and dug a few patches with a fork. Sadly, as you can see, they are all marbles - not even worthy of saving for seed. I don't doubt that washed off and boiled or roasted they'll be delicious, however we've made the decision to allow the plough to do its thing and see what's worth picking up after.
